Clare Hutchinson M.A.
After a decade of working in HR, Clare commenced training as a therapist. During the last 16 years she has undertaken extensive training and qualified in numerous psychological approaches. This includes person centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, coaching, EMDR (a specialist trauma treatment) clinical supervision, mindfulness and more. She also gained a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2010 as well as leadership and management qualifications. Her specialism within therapy is trauma and she is BACP accredited as well as being an EMDR accredited practitioner.

With 10 years of NHS Clinical and management experience, Clare has extensive clinical and service development knowledge and experience. She was involved in the development and delivery of training, individual and group workplace mediation, reflective practice groups and critical incident support (CISM trained).

Throughout her working life Clare has developed and implemented numerous initiatives, polices and protocols. She has also managed and negotiated contracts and been involved in the writing of numerous bids. She has also managed and developed staff and as a trained APPTS assessor, assessed various counselling services trying to attain APPTS accreditation.

Clare is an accredited mediator and as a senior clinician has worked with more complex or senior management mediations alongside teams and groups where there has been conflict, investigations, or relationship breakdowns. Her clinical background supports the mediation process with the swift establishing of relationships and experience of managing often complex and embedded psychological positions and emotions.

Clare, based in Liverpool, now works in higher education and private practice. She works with people via online platforms, telephone and in person, offering client appointments, training, mediation, and bespoke workshops. Clare is passionate about empowering people to improve their lives. She believes that within us, we all, have the potential to grow and she aims to assist in removing the obstacles to this growth, whether that be through therapy, education, or congruent and supportive discussion.
